Lady Minuteman History

I started this website in part to revive, uphold, educate and display the 30+ year history of the girls' program. There are runners, jumpers, throwers, and hurdlers from 5 different decades. I believe that the athletes today should know the "pioneers" of EHS Lady Minuteman Track & Field. I was fortunate enough to attend high school with some of these fantastic young ladies, as well as communicate with some of them while compiling information for the website. I'd like to thank Ms. Masin for providing all of the photos. I'd also like to thank Robin Baker, Deborah Shipman, and Jackie Diaz for providing accurate and useful information.

***Lady Minuteman Fact*** Letecia McBride is currently the #5 EHS All-Time long jumper with a leap of 17' 10". She's also tied at #7 All-Time in the 200m with a 25.9.

***Lady Minuteman Fact*** Elaine Hamilton was the 1980 Watchung Conference Champion and the 1982 Union County Champion in the 100m Hurdles. She also ranks #9 EHS All-Time in the long jump at 16' 7 1/4".
******************************************* ***Lady Minuteman Fact*** Lashay Baldwin was the 1981 Watchung Conference 440 Yd. Champion. Her personal best time of 1:00.0 ranks her #6 EHS All-Time.

***Lady Minuteman Fact*** Lavelle Brown is currently the #3 100m hurdler in EHS history with a 14.7. She is also the #7 400m hurdler in EHS history with a 1:07.2.
******************************************** ***Lady Minuteman Fact*** At the 1984 Union County Championships, Jackie Diaz (Evans) set the EHS record in the 3200m run (11:51.9). It is the oldest girls' track & field record on the books. She also has more top 10 cross country performances (5) on the Warinanco Park dual meet course than any other runner in EHS history.

***Lady Minuteman Fact*** Theresa Harvey's daughter, Camille Harvey, competed for the Lady Minutemen in 2006. As a sophomore, she ran a credible 2:34 in the 800m and a 1:11.84 in the 400m hurdles. Her 400m hurdles mark ranks #10 all-time on the Top 10 list.
******************************************* ***Lady Minuteman Fact*** Kellye Newton was the 1983 Watchung Conference Champion in the 100m dash.
